"The objective of this course is to equip the students with entrepreneurial skills.\n\nEntrepreneurship is defined as the capacity and willingness to develop, organize and manage a business venture, along with any of its risks, in order to make a profit. Entrepreneurship can be as an owned company, or internal in a company. This course focuses on Entrepreneurial ‘spirit’ and is characterized by innovation and risk-taking; this is an essential part to succeed in an ever-changing and increasingly competitive global marketplace (from ‘Business dictionary’; 2013). However, entrepreneurship is much broader than the creation of a new business venture. It is also a mind-set – a way of thinking and acting. It is about imagining new ways to solve problems and create value. In the context of changing paradigms in development corporation, giving a mayor role to the private sector in the aid to trade agenda, this entrepreneurial mind-set will help our students to understand and effectively communicate with stakeholders in public-private partnerships and to be active in the private sector as well. Entrepreneurship is, not without a reason, one of the key 21th century skills.\n\nHence, the focus of this course lies on creating an entrepreneurial mind-set to identify and developed business cases from geo-information science that have economical, societal & environmental values."@en .
